Is your business ready for the silly season?

Do you dream of a world where all your social media content is already created and you have a bunch of free time to do whatever you want? Here's how...

The silly season is different for everyone but if you're a small business owner then you know it can easily become very overwhelming to keep up with promotions, social media demands, all things running a business and having a life outside of your business.

So how do you prepare your business for the silly season and still get to enjoy a wine with friends or cuddles with the fam without your business burning to the ground?

Preparation!

I know, you're thinking "of course preparation, I don't need to read your blog to know that!".

Bear with me.

In July/August sit down and write a list of all the promotions you want to be a part of. Does your business celebrate Christmas, Halloween, Hanukkah or Diwali for example? Do you do black Friday sales? Father’s day? The list goes on but you get the point. Write them all down.

Tip: If you do this at the beginning of the year you can prep the whole year and you won't ever have those last minute stress-filled marketing moments.

Now write a second list for all the blogs, posts and promos that you will need for the events you have chosen. This will give you a solid list of all the media you will need for each of those events.

Here's the cool bit... Book your personal branding shoot for August/September and talk to your photographer about all your upcoming promotions, blogs and ideas so you're both on the same page and you know how many images you will need and what they are.

SHOOT IT ALL ON ONE DAY!!!

Yup, that's right. A smart business owner doesn't spend their whole life creating content. They hire a professional, have a goals list for their images and together we smash it out in one day.

Once you have had your shoot, you should have all your images back in a couple of weeks and you will be ready to rock for all your upcoming events well and truly.

Did you know that most people have completed all their Christmas shopping by November? If you want to capture that commerce, you need to be in full-marketing-swing by October at the latest.
