Tamarin - Fashion Designer
Tamarin – Taluna Collective
Tamarin is an Australian fashion designer deeply passionate about natural, sustainable fabrics. Every Taluna Collective piece is designed and made in Australia, creating a truly high-quality, luxe womenswear collection that embodies effortless style and sustainability.
At the time of our shoot, Tamarin was preparing to launch her brand, and she wanted a branding session that would introduce her as the face behind Taluna—without her headshots feeling out of place alongside her other content. Since Taluna is named after both her and her beloved dog, Luna, it was essential that Luna also played a role in the imagery.
Creative Direction & Mood
Tamarin envisioned Taluna with a Queensland boho, in-the-field aesthetic, designed to connect with a younger audience. We knew her branding shoot needed to blend seamlessly with this mood while still establishing her as the designer rather than making her look like a model.
To reinforce this distinction, I created an outdoor boutique-style setup that felt natural yet elevated. We crafted a clothing rack from a tree branch, bringing in a luxe touch with rose gold hangers to complement the silk and cotton textures of her collection.
To push the fashion-forward, editorial feel, I played with varied angles and depth, climbing onto a ladder for some shots, shooting through tall grass for natural framing, and having her sit on a stool in the open field to add a sense of space and breathability. As the afternoon light softened, it gave the imagery an ethereal, golden glow that perfectly aligned with Taluna’s aesthetic.
Location
We selected a location that offered multiple natural backdrops while keeping the focus on the clothing and branding. Since the collection emphasized natural fabrics and earthy tones, I looked for an area with long, unkempt grass to complement that aesthetic.
I also made sure the background remained uncluttered, avoiding distractions like people or busy tree lines, so every image felt intentional and clean. Shooting closer to golden hour allowed us to create natural flares and light leaks, adding an extra touch of magic.
Aesthetic & Styling
The wardrobe was effortless—Tamarin wore pieces from her latest Taluna collection, ensuring brand cohesion. Luna also matched, sporting Taluna-designed bandanas, making the brand’s story even more personal and charming.
For props, we brought a sample of each collection piece to style in the outdoor “shop”, further reinforcing Tamarin’s role as a designer rather than just a model. I also introduced a seating setup—rug, chair, side table, and florals—to craft an elevated, yet organic studio feel in the open field.
Additionally, I incorporated elements directly from the environment, such as gathering bunches of tall grass to use as textural bouquets, subtly reinforcing the connection between fashion and nature.
The Final Collection
This shoot resulted in a rich, versatile gallery of images that Tamarin can seamlessly use across her website, social media, and promotional materials. The collection feels cohesive, editorial, and authentically Taluna, with the natural tones of the fabrics blending beautifully into the environment.
By thoughtfully styling the set, embracing natural textures, and ensuring that Tamarin was positioned as a creative director rather than just a face, we created a branding session that truly reflects the ethos of her sustainable, high-end fashion line.
